My name is Monica Ramires. I am a Brazilian photographer living in the Boston area, and for nearly 14 years, photography has been much more than a profession—it has been my way of connecting with people and preserving the moments that matter most.
When I first picked up a camera, I quickly realized that photography was never just about taking pictures. It was about stories. Every family, every child, every expecting mother, every couple has a unique story to tell. Over the years, I have had the privilege of documenting hundreds of those stories, and each one has left a mark on my heart.
One of the things that makes my approach different is that I do not see my clients as just another session on my calendar. Before every photoshoot, I take time to get to know the people in front of my camera. I want to understand who they are, what they value, and what they hope to remember years from now when they look back at their photographs.
You might be surprised how much can be discovered in just a few minutes of conversation. Often, it doesn't take long for me to understand the purpose behind the session and the emotions my clients want their images to reflect. That connection allows me to create photographs that feel genuine, meaningful, and personal.
I am not the type of photographer who simply presses a button, watches the clock, and leaves when the session is over. My goal is to create an experience where people feel comfortable, seen, and understood. The photographs are important, of course, but the relationships built along the way are equally valuable.
As someone who speaks both Portuguese and English, I have the joy of serving families from many different backgrounds throughout the Boston area. No matter where you come from, my mission remains the same: to create beautiful images that tell your story and preserve memories for generations to come.
Every day, I fall a little more in love with photography—not because of the camera, but because of the people I meet and the stories I have the honor of documenting.
